Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and PlatformWatch ("we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the PlatformWatch app and website (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, which form part of your agreement with us.
Who can use PlatformWatch
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account.
- Please give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your account details up to date.
What PlatformWatch is — and isn't
PlatformWatch is a passenger-awareness tool. It shows crowdsourced reports submitted by other passengers to help you understand what is happening at stations and know your rights.
It is not a tool to evade fares or to avoid lawful enforcement, and must not be used for those purposes. Reports are submitted by members of the public, may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and are provided for general awareness only. Do not rely on them as a guarantee of what is or is not happening at any station.
Your content and conduct
You are responsible for everything you post, and you must follow our Community Guidelines at all times.
- Only post photos to verify the presence of station activity — never to harass, target, intimidate or identify individuals, and avoid photographing people's faces.
- Do not post false, misleading, abusive, threatening, hateful, sexual or otherwise objectionable content.
- Do not use the Service to encourage fare evasion or any illegal activity, to impersonate others, or to share other people's personal information.
Your rights in your content
You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store and display that content within the Service so that it can function — for example, showing your report to other passengers. Report photos are automatically deleted about 3 hours after posting.
Moderation and enforcement
- We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
- Content reported by several users may be hidden automatically pending review.
- We aim to act on reports promptly, but we do not guarantee any particular response time.
Availability and changes
We provide the Service "as is" and "as available". We may add, change, suspend or remove features, or the whole Service, at any time. We may also update these Terms; if we do, we will post the new version here and update the date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Third-party services and data
The Service relies on third-party data and providers, including map data from OpenStreetMap, live train information from National Rail Enquiries and other providers, and hosting infrastructure. Their data and services are subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party content.
No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and its crowdsourced content are provided without warranties of any kind, including as to accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any report within it. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Intellectual property
PlatformWatch, including its name, design and software, belongs to us. You may not copy, modify or redistribute it except as allowed by these Terms or by law.
Ending your use
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
